ABOUT ERINN E. HAGERTY

 

 

Erinn E. Hagerty is an interdisciplinary artist employing animation, film & video, kinetic sculpture, microscopy, and installation. She earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her M.F.A. at the Mount Royal School of Interdisciplinary Art at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Her work and teaching practices have been mentioned in such publications as the Animation World Network (AWN.com, 2013, 2010) and The Pennsylvania Gazette (2007), and on Good Day Philadelphia (2004). Her company, Unfolding of the Wave Ltd, is an arts collective with Adam P. Savje, that develops films and public installations; their roving studio thrives between Boston, MA and Baltimore, MD. While developing her own work, she has also produced animations for children's series, operas, museums and exhibitions. Her personal and group productions have exhibited and screened internationally, including at School 33 Art Center (Baltimore, MD), the Charles Addams Fine Arts Gallery (Philadelphia, PA), Fordham University (New York, NY), Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA)( Philadelphia, PA), Lincoln Center (New York, NY), and the Prince Music Theater (Philadelphia, PA).


Hagerty is a professor of Animation at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD and a lecturer of computer and mixed-media animation at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. She was previously an Adjunct Professor in the Digital Design and Animation programs at Thomas Jefferson University (formerly Philadelphia University) and has guest lectured at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the Penn Alexander School.
